Summary
What this is
A field toolkit for comunes and residents to record buildings at urban scale: condition, use, access, conservation.
What problem it was made for
Reuse policy without building-scale evidence. Encouraging Reuse needed something a small comune could run without a consultant team living there permanently.
Where it came from
An occupancy and maintenance survey of Pettorano sul Gizio during Rebuilding the Edge, 2022, then Liminal Lab Monti Prenestini, where 18 participants mapped four villages in a day, Lab Valbrevenna, and Annabel Consilvio's MIT thesis on Guadagnolo. Phase I of Encouraging Reuse applied it to 712 buildings in 18 hamlets of Fontainemore and Perloz, summer 2024.
How to use it
The Challenge report documents the survey flow, the split between mapping and discovery teams, and what still has to be automated before other LAGs adopt it. Artifact links will be added when a public repository is stable.
Reuse
Intended for other Italian LAGs through LEADER cooperation. License to be confirmed before third-party redistribution.
